Actual details:

This workshop is for anyone who wants practical self-defense tools in a respectful, inclusive, and beginner-friendly space.

While this workshop centers LGBTQ+ community safety, it is open to everyone. Friends, partners, family members, and allies are welcome.

We’ll cover awareness, boundaries, using your voice, creating space, basic striking tools, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu-based escapes for common situations like grabs, being crowded, being pushed, or ending up on the ground.

This is not about fear.

It’s about having more tools, more choices, and more confidence in your body.

At CAA, we care deeply about creating a training space where people can show up as they are. You do not need martial arts experience. You do not need to be strong, athletic, or already confident. You do not need to prove anything.

We’ll meet you where you are and give you practical skills you can build on.

What We'll Work On:

* Awareness and personal space

* Boundary-setting

* Using your voice clearly

* Creating distance

* Basic strikes

* Escaping common grabs

* Getting up safely from the ground

* Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu-based frames and escapes

* What to do if you freeze

* Supporting yourself and others in unsafe situations
