Boundaries, Confidence & Self-Defense for Kids
Bullying looks different than it used to.
It can happen at school, on the playground, in sports, in friend groups, in group chats, online, and in those blurry social moments where kids know something feels wrong but don’t always have the language, confidence, or tools to respond.
At Combat Arts Academy, we don’t believe “just ignore it” is enough.
We also don’t believe the answer is teaching kids to fight every time something feels uncomfortable.
Bullyproof is a practical, age-appropriate workshop that helps kids build the tools they need to recognize unsafe behavior, use their voice, hold boundaries, ask for help, and physically protect themselves if they need to.
This workshop blends Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, self-defense, role play, communication practice, and parent education so kids are not just learning moves — they are learning how to respond under pressure.

What Kids Will Practice
Recognizing bullying, boundary-crossing, and unsafe behavior
Understanding the difference between conflict, teasing, meanness, and bullying
Using a strong voice without escalating
Saying “stop” clearly and confidently
Creating space with body positioning
Getting away and finding help
Staying calm when they feel embarrassed, scared, or overwhelmed
Basic Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu-based self-defense skills
How to protect themselves if someone grabs, pushes, holds, or pins them
How to use control without trying to hurt someone
How to support a friend who is being targeted
The goal is not to teach kids to be aggressive. It's to help kids feel more aware, more confident, more prepared, and more connected to their own voice and body.
Parent Participation Required
Parents attend because kids need support outside the gym too.
We’ll talk about how to help your child build confidence without putting all the responsibility on them to “handle it.”
You’ll learn how to reinforce boundaries at home, how to practice language with your child, and how to support them if something does happen.
Parents do not need martial arts experience.
You are there to learn, support, and understand how to help your child continue practicing these tools after the workshop.
What to Wear
Kids should wear comfortable clothes they can move in and bring a water bottle.
No martial arts experience is needed.
This is a great next step for kids who want to keep building confidence, body awareness, discipline, and real martial arts skills in a supportive environment.
